Costco stores in Hawaii are as popular with visitors as they are with locals. Management tells us that one-third of all Costco Hawaii sales are to visitors. So, here’s a list of items we highly recommend you check out, and some less-liked things you might want to skip on your Hawaiian trip. 🌴💼

Surprisingly, one thing you can’t find at Costco is Ukuleles. Costco Hawaii stores have sold them intermittently but currently do not have them in stock. 🎸❌

  1. Flower Lei. They don’t call them leis in Hawaiian, the same word is used for singular and plural. Regardless, Costco regularly stocks leis with prices starting as low as $5 each (actually, two for $9.99). They also sell more elaborate leis with prices starting from about $15 and up. 🌺💰

Bottom of the Barrel (BOB): If you’re at Costco, it’s a good place to pick them up. However, if you’re looking for something more exotic, this may not be the best choice. 😃👍

Here’s a tip on how to present a lei to someone. Drape it over their shoulders, not around their neck. A lei is a way to honor the person you’re giving it to on their birthday, anniversary, or another personal milestone.
